Web applications frequently access data from external storage, so Glimpse provides deep insights into your requests’ data access calls. The Glimpse Node Agent currently instruments the MongoDB & Redis drivers. Diagnostic information produced by this instrumentation is displayed here in the Data tab.
As of Glimpse version 0.22.11, the Data tab is considered experimental. We appreciate any feedback you have; bug reports, feature requests, and any other database systems or client drivers you would like instrumented are all very wellcome. Just open an issue with your feedback, and we’ll be sure to get back to you.
The UI for the data tab follows a similar layout to the web services tab.
The filter bar allows users to include or exclude data access events based on the type of data store (MongoDB or Redis), or the type of operation (Create, Read, Update, Delete or Other).
Data Access Table
The Data Access table lists all MongoDB & Redis client calls made during the currently selected request. Selecting a data access call in the table will show details in the section below.
Details about the selected data access call are shown in the data details section. We’ll show the inputs to MongoDB & Redis commands, as well as a summary of results and connection information. As shown in figures below, the details we display are different for Redis & MongoDB operations.
